Bookbug is the Scottish Book Trust’s early years programme. It aims to encourage a love of books from a young age through a range of free fun activities and the giving of free books. East Ayrshire Libraries work closely with Bookbug to deliver the very popular Bookbug sessions where children aged from birth to four years enjoy stories, singing and activities with their parents and carers.

Bookbug Sessions:

Dick Institute:

Wednesday 10.15-10.45 & 11.15-11.45 (pre-booked)

Wednesday 1.15-1.45 & 2.15-2.45 (drop-in)

Saturday 10.15-10.45 (pre-booked)

Saturday 11.15-11.45 (drop-in)

 Wednesday pre-booked sessions are booked for the term; Saturday sessions are booked on a weekly basis with bookings being taken from Tuesday onwards.

 Community Libraries:

Galston Wednesday 10.45-11.15 (pre-booked sessions)

Crosshouse Thursday 2.30-3

Stewarton Friday 10.30-11 & 11.30-12

Auchinleck Friday 11.30-12

Cumnock Friday 1-1.30

 Galston sessions are on a fortnightly rotation

 

Free Bookbug packs are gifted to babies, toddlers, 3 year olds and Primary 1 pupils.
