Summer Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge takes place every year during the summer holidays. You can sign up at your local library, then read six library books of your choice to complete the Challenge. There are exclusive rewards to collect along the way, and it’s FREE to take part!

The Summer Reading Challenge website helps you keep track of your reading all year round: find new books to read, take part in competitions and play games.

There is a different theme each year. 2016 featured some of Roald Dahl's best-loved characters and the amazing artwork of his principal illustrator, Sir Quentin Blake.

You can read whatever you like - fact books, joke books, picture books, audio books - just as long as they are borrowed from the library.

Every time you finish a book you'll get stickers and rewards and there's a certificate for everyone that finishes.

The Summer Reading Challenge is open to all children and is designed for all reading abilities.
