The legacy of Robert Burns is a key part of our events programme. We have regular creative workshops, exhibitions and festivals that use Robert Burns and his work as inspiration.

Literary events include the Imprint Book Festival, which takes place under the poet’s gaze at the Burns Monument Centre. Similarly, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect is a weekend of Scottish literature marking the publication of the Kilmarnock Edition in the summer of 1786.

The Bard’s influence goes well beyond literature – our visual art and live music events also take inspiration from his poetry and songs, his lively personality, and his unique place in Scotland’s cultural identity.
