Countryside Pop-up Awareness Event

Dean Castle Country Park Rangers did a pop-up awareness event yesterday, Wednesday 5 March, at Kennedy Drive to highlight the issues of littering, fly tipping and fire starting in the woodland.

Clearing up litter never looked like so much fun! Adding a stop-watch takes litter-picking to a whole new level - there might even be an Olympic sport in there somewhere! Kids, adults, even dogs got in on the action and the area was clear of litter in no time.

Huge thanks to Scottish Fire and Rescue and the East Ayrshire Corporate Enforcement team who were there alongside the Countryside Rangers to explain the dangers litter and fire can pose to woodland and wildlife.
