Date Occurs 24/05/2019 - 24/05/2019
Time 7.30pm

STEPHEN PURDON (Shellsuit Bob from River City) plays Benny. HOLLY JACK (River City, Burnistoun, Waterloo Road) plays Benny’s wife, while BILLY McBAIN (Taggart, Holby City, Casualty, Monarch of the Glen, The Young Ones) plays Benny’s coach and mentor Sammy Wilson.

A national production touring in May and June 2019, the show tells the story of Scotland’s first ever boxing world champion. It is a poignant and entertaining look at his life, from his childhood in the Gorbals’ slums, to his boxing success and global stardom, and ultimately to his demise and untimely death in 1946 at the age of only 33.

It doesn’t matter if you’re not a boxing fan. This show is about the extraordinary life of a Scottish icon. It is the ultimate rags to riches to rags story.

Age recommendation of 14+ as the show contains strong language.

£1.50 per transaction performance fee.
