The McKie Digitisation Project funded by Museums Galleries Scotland aims to digitise the large collection of Burns manuscripts, books, paintings and other Burnsiana collected by Kilmarnock publisher James McKie (1816-1891). The goal is to make the collection more accessible to the public by uploading the catalogue details and photographs of each collection item to FutureMuseum website. There are over 1000 items to tackle, and come in a variety of forms.

A few examples from the collection will be on display at the Dick Institute, starting with extracts from Burns' scrapbooks. The display will be changed monthly as progress continues.  The case is located in the South Museum alongside Kilmarnock publishing history and Printed Works of Burns displays.
