Bushcraft Skills Course

Admission 5 sessions for £125. 16 years and above.

Together we will explore the bushcraft realm offering a beginners insight into lost arts and primeval survival techniques.

The course is broken down into 5 sessions with an additional optional wild camp on completion of all of the training sessions. 16 years and above.

Session 1: Bushcraft basics

What is bushcraft?

The bushcrafters equipment Intro to working with cutting tools

Intro to knots

Intro to sleeping systems

Intro to cooking systems

Practice and principles of Leave No Trace

 

Session 2: Shelter building

Tarps and tents

Bivouacs

Hammock building

Natural shelters

Group shelters

Protection from insects and animals

 

Session 3: Firecraft and campcraft

Principles and components of fire lighting

Modern methods

Ancient methods

Troubleshooting when fire lighting

Fire pit layouts

Cooking systems

Fire extinguishing and safety

 

Session 4: Food for Free

Foraging skills

Fishing techniques

Ancient hunting methods

Safe cooking in the outdoors

Sourcing water

Water purification techniques

 

Session 5: Consolidating skills

Review of our previously learnt skills to include;

Constructing a group shelter

Construct a sleeping system

Creating a firepit and fire

Forage for food and obtain safe water

Create a cooking system and cook a meal

Strike camp and Leave No Trace
