Nature Clubs

Our nature clubs meet regularly throughout the year at Dean Castle Country Park and take part in a range of fun activities, events and conservation tasks with the Countryside Ranger Team.

The Squirrel Club

This Club meets on alternate Saturdays throughout the year and is for primary school aged children. The Club participate in a range of activities with the Ranger Service based at the Country Park culminating in the annual Ayrshire Inter Club Challenge where nature clubs from across Ayrshire and Arran come together and compete in a range of challenges and activities.

Junior Rangers

Interested in conservation, habitat creation, woodland management and wildlife monitoring?  Why not become a Junior Ranger. This programme is for 12 to 16 year olds with a genuine interest in the countryside. The group meet on alternate Saturdays throughout the year.

Junior Rangers will get the chance to work with the Ranger Service at Dean Castle Country Park and learn how to track animals, build shelters, watch wildlife, carry out  surveys, take part in conservation tasks and much more.
