The Dick Institute

The Junior Library and Digital Space are now fully open for business and look great after the refurbishment works. Pop in and visit!

Opened in 1901, the Dick Institute is one of the most important cultural venues in the south-west of Scotland, featuring the largest museum and galleries space in Ayrshire as well as East Ayrshire's central library.

The lending library, junior library and digital space are all housed on the ground floor. The library offers a host of resources as well as regular Bookbug sessions, meet the author events and much more.

I love My Library because... "My two children can colour in, select their favourite DVDs and read literally dozens of books; we come every week and there is always something new to see & do!" Ian Heron Kilmarnock (Winner National Library Day Slogan - Dick Institute)

Free Wi-Fi

Library members and visitors can use laptops, mobile devices and phones to access free Wi-Fi at the Dick Insitute and the following local libraries:-
