Your local library is looking for you!
Cumnock Library has put together an exciting new programme of activities to recruit book lovers of all ages!
Chatterbooks is your child’s chance to join the largest book group in the world! 10,000 children belong to Chatterbooks groups which are designed to encourage reading enjoyment. At each Chatterbooks session children talk about what they are reading, take part in fun activities inspired by the best children's books, and choose new books to take home to read. There will be two groups running in Cumnock Library, one for 6-7 yrs and another for 8yrs (juice and snacks are provided). It’s also a great opportunity to make new friends!
We haven't forgotten the adults, with a monthly book group taking place on Thursdays, discussing fiction and non-fiction books. It's a fantastic way to discover new authors, and genres you might not normally pick for yourself and an opportunity to discuss different oppinions and views of your chosen book. It’s fun, it’s free and refreshments are provided.
Tea, coffee and conversation are on the menu at Cumnock Library with the new Chit Chat sessions. No two sessions are the same and they are tailored to the group on a weekly basis. Come and discuss something that interests you or just come for a blether. The conversation can take you in any direction: parenting techniques, community issues, hobbies, books, local history or even what happened on EastEnders. Get advice, learn from other people’s experiences and make new friends in a relaxing and welcoming environment.
If you are interested in taking part in any of the groups visit Cumnock Library or t: 01290 427711 for more information.
