Member of the Month

Our latest member of the month is Elizabeth who has been regularly attending the Hunter Fitness Suite for the last year.

Elizabeth had been suffering from severe knee pain and has recently undergone a knee replacement operation. After such a major operation Elizabeth is starting to return to the gym doing light exercise. The commitment to maintaining her health and fitness through a difficult period is admirable.

If like Elizabeth, you have undergone knee surgery you may feel uncomfortable at first returning to exercising but the following exercises will help speed your recovery and actually diminish your postoperative pain.

  • Quadriceps Sets. Tighten your thigh muscle. ...
  • Straight Leg Raises. ...
  • Ankle Pumps. ...
  • Knee Straightening Exercises. ...
  • Bed-Supported Knee Bends. ...
  • Sitting Supported Knee Bends...

If you have been advised by your doctor and physio to begin post operative exercises, visit one of our fitness centres and our staff will be happy to guide you through a programme of light exercise to get you back to full fitness.

Elizabeth, we wish you all the best for your continued recovery and hope you'll soon be back to enjoying full health and further success on your fitness journey.
