Imprint Book Festival Makes a Thrilling Return

The Imprint Book Festival is fast approaching. Join us as we celebrate the wonderful world of the ‘who-dunnit’, as the festival takes a thrilling twist with best selling crime authors Val McDermid, Alex Grey, Craig Robertson and Michael Malone. Imprint takes place around East Ayrshire from Saturday 3rd of October till Friday 9th October.

 Parters in Crime Craig Robertson and Michael Malone will host a thrilling evening at the Dick Institute on Monday 5th October. Craig spent 20 years as a journalist before becoming a full time author. His latest book, The Last Refuge, has been described as ‘a truly stunning crime novel’ with ‘the perfect blend of story, character and setting’. Craig is joined by poet and author Michael J Malone, an Ayrshire boy, whose latest book, Beyond the Rage, has been acclaimed  as ‘intelligent, violet thriller shot through with humour’

Cumnock Library welcomes back Scottish crime author Alex Grey who has been awarded the Scottish Association of Writers’ Constable and Pitlochry trophies for her crime writing. She is also the co-founder of the prestigious Bloody Scotland international crime writing festival. Alex will discuss her latest novel, Keep the Midnight Out – part of the Detective Lorminer series, set on the beautiful island of Mull on Thursday 8th October at 2pm. Tickets are £5.

 One of the biggest names in crime writing, Val McDermid, will be appearing at the Grand Hall on Thursday 8th October. Val will discuss her remarkable career and her latest novel in the company of Imprint patron Zoe Strachan. Set in McDermid’s hometown of Edinburgh, Val’s latest book, The Skeleton Road centres on a cold case investigation where Detective Karen Pirie unearths a series of past conflicts, false identities and secrets that have long been buried. Tickets are £7/£5 conc.
