Popular Local History Research Centre Re-opens

We are pleased to announce that from Tuesday 17th August our Local History Research Department at Burns Monument Centre will reopen to our visitors on an appointment only basis. To make an appointment please phone our staff on 01563 553654 or email heather.dunlop@eastayrshireleisure.com. Appointment times are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9.45-10.45am and 11.15am – 12.15pm. There is a maximum number of three people allowed per appointment time.

We are still answering enquiries by telephone and email.

The local and family history collections at the Centre are cared for by East Ayrshire Leisure. The collection includes items such as newspapers, maps, historic photographs, books and many other local and family history resources.

Whether you are curious about the Covenanters or want to settle a bet in the pub about who had the chemist shop in the High Street, call in to the local and family history department at the Centre where our experienced staff will point you in the right direction.
