Whilst during this period of lockdown, getting outside for exercise is permitted, Government guidance states that there should be no travelling by car to do so. There are a number of areas within East Ayrshire where this guidance is not being followed and so steps have been taken in association with local landowners and Police Scotland to close car parks and restrict access for those who are still continuing to travel to these areas. Police will be monitoring these sites and will be able to issue fines to anyone ignoring Government guidance.
Please follow this guidance and stay local for your daily exercise.
Some of the areas which have been identified are;
Dean Castle Country Park including the Assloss entrance
Whitelee Wind Farm
Loch Doon & Craigengillan
Cairn Table & Walkers’ Car Park
Car parks along the River Ayr Way
Annanhill Golf Course
Large parks including Woodroad
