Visit the Rural Life Centre where you can learn more about sustainable living and enjoy some beautiful woodland walks, learning more about the history of the estate and spotting local wildlife along the way.

Children can run wild in the adventure playground and explore the Urban Farm to meet our farm animals.

Inspired by the 14th century castle and it's surroundings, our Adventure Play Space has been designed to encourage freedom, choice and excitement within a natural setting and is deliberately different from the urban playparks throughout Kilmarnock.

Our play park equipment is identified by shape and colour coding showing the suitability of the apparatus for each age range. Where no age group sign is evident, or where equipment has a possible defect, we would advise you not to use it and to report the matter to a member of the East Ayrshire Leisure team or contact us at info@eastayrshireleisure.com

No age restriction: Musical Tubes, Tree Board, Musical Ball, Trampoline, Roundabout

2 – 6 years: Hedgehog Slide, Cradle Swing, Balance Boards, See Saw

7 – 12 years: Adventure Play Unit, Pod Swing, Standing Rope Swing

The Country Park has an extensive events programme throughout the year too – from pond dipping and nature walks with the Countryside Rangers to Harvest Festivals, family fun days and more!

Explore the Country Park

The Country Park also boasts a fantastic 14th century castle which is currently undergoing restoration to allow it to enjoyed by future generations to come. Whilst these works are taking place, the castle’s incredible collections of arms and armour, early musical instrument collections and more are on display at the nearby Dick Institute.
