Welcome to the Dick Institute, where history is anything but boring!!  Step into a world of hilariously horrid tales brought to life by the brilliant illustrations of Martin Brown in our current Main Gallery exhibition. Discover the gruesome and gory details of the Measly Middle Ages, delve into the fierce and ferocious world of the Cut-Throat Celts, sail into the savage adventures of the Vicious Vikings and beyond!! Prepare for a journey through time that’s as entertaining as it is educational, where the past’s most revolting stories leap off the pages and into life!!!

We dare YOU to join us on an intensive creative week where you will adventure into the past and use your imagination to spin your very own gory stories, developing characters and bringing them to life through costume, performance and art. We will get messy creating poppin’ props, quality quizzes and dazzling drawings inspired by Martin Brown.

We will visit our very own historic landmark Dean Castle, learn about the past through witchy tales, terrifying torture, love potions, storytelling and so much more…

The week will conclude in a sharing for friends and family to see and hear all about the gruesome tales we have collected on our way. So come with us, and take a look back through the ages!!

Bring your pack lunch and a snack each day to keep energy up for all our activities!!!

There are only 16 spaces so book early to avoid disappointment.
