Computers & Learning
We have computers in all of our libraries giving you access to the internet, email and Microsoft Office applications. As a library member you can book a session at any time using your library card by contacting your local library or via the link

We offer a range of assistive technologies to help those with impaired vision, dyslexia, learning difficulties and motor impairment to use library computers. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
The equipment and software we have includes
JAWS for Windows - for use with MS Office software, email & internet
Screen adapting software - JAWS
Screen reading software - JAWS and TextHELP!
Scanning and text-to-speech software
Reading and numeracy software - TextHELP!
Keyboards with large keys and high visibility keyboard stickers
Mouse alternatives - Kingston large format trackball and ergonomic joystick mice
We also offer training in JAWS.
There are a variety of flexible learning options available at East Ayrshire Libraries and materials can be borrowed free of charge. These materials are available as workbooks and can be easily searched using the Advanced Search option on the library catalogue and carrying out a Flexible Learning Search.
Our libraries run one-to-one taster sessions for beginners. Bring along your tablet, phone or laptop or have a demonstration on a library PC. We also run short courses for beginners, in the use of Android and Apple devices.
In addition we run digital sessions for children, including Minecraft and Coding Clubs.
