CAST ANNOUNCED FOR KILMARNOCK’S MAGICAL FAMILY PANTOMIME

The cast is announced for Kilmarnock’s much loved annual pantomime ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ which this year will be performed in a fully-heated purpose-built Big Top from 22 November to 29 December 2024.

With further casting to follow, audiences can look forward to welcoming back panto favourites Andrew Agnew as Dame Dolly Dundonald, Gary Morrison as Donald Dundonald, James McAnerney as Roger von Riccarton and Craig McDougall as Scott the Ringmaster.

Andrew Agnew who will also direct said: "Give me a yoohoo! ......that's smashing". Can you believe we are looking towards Christmas already? Well, we are, and I am delighted to be back in Killie this year with Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Especially as it's going to be a brand new show and a different experience for us all. Audiences are going to love it.

First of all, I'm extremely excited that I get to direct and perform in a Big Top Circus tent. I've certainly been called a clown for many years (rude), but now it's coming true (yippee). I get to play Dame Dolly, the owner of this beautiful Big Top, and she's certainly got her work cut out with those bears. We've got a great story for you this year too. It's an unusual title for a Killie panto, certainly my first time doing this show, but people are going to enjoy the change I think.

I love the circus and we are going to have our very own in Kilmarnock with all the comforts that we all need to keep us cosy, but most importantly, entertained over this festive season.

There's lots of surprises that'll be included in this new show that you will love, I don't want to spoil anything, but what we will have is the usual panto fun, laughter and nonsense provided by the usual familiar cast that Killie have grown to love over the years. We'll miss our usual theatre as she gets her make-over but this really is going to be something special, don't miss it”

Goldilocks and the Three Bears is presented by award-winning producer Imagine Theatre who celebrate their 21st year as the creators of the Killie panto. For the first time outside a major city in the UK they will use their ground-breaking digital technology to present the show on hi-tech screens augmenting traditional panto content and staging. The audience will be whisked digitally from scene to scene using the latest animation techniques, which have left other Imagine audiences amazed and enchanted.

The laugh out loud script will be written by Eric Potts, the Ayrshire born Palace regular who said:

“The Circus is definitely coming to town!  Everything is coming together well for this year’s fabulous Killie panto – “Goldilocks & the Three Bears”.  We now know exactly how the fully-heated Big Top will look and how it will all fit in within the space at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena to give our audiences a really magical and easily accessible experience. The script is being written and the music being selected. We are thrilled that our Killie panto regulars, Andrew Agnew, Gary Morrison, James MacAnerney & Craig McDougall will be returning and will be joined by other fabulous performers including two spectacular human circus acts being specially sourced for the show by Chipperfields, one of the greatest names in the history of British circus. This is going to be a really special panto experience for all the family.”

Roll Up!  Roll Up! and get ready to be transported = on a magical panto adventure as the Three Bears desperately find a way of showing off their fantastic dance moves to the world. Who knows – they may even save the circus run by Dame Dolly Dundonald. With the usual brilliant blend of laughter, music and panto mischief alongside spectacular circus performers, this is the Killie panto you know and love…but with bells on!

This will be a pantomime experience like no other! Tickets for this unique family friendly festive treat are on sale now visit eastayrshireleisure.com to book.
