Leisure at the Heart of Every Community

Leisure at the Heart is an exciting new project funded by the UK Government, through the UK Community Renewal Fund which aims to bring cultural, heritage and greenspace activities right into the heart of our more rural communities.

This funding will allow us to deliver Leisure to the Heart of Every Community through 4 mobile units:
'Culture on the Go' which focuses on bringing events, workshops and programmes to communities e.g. drama workshops, youth theatre courses, prop making, art classes and outdoor performances.
'Branching Out' which will bring the rural skills into greenspaces working alongside Ayrshire College. The skills learned will be used to enhance greenspaces within communities and will include volunteering opportunities, working towards a John Muir awards, nature activities and more.
'Digital Communities' which will offer coding workshops and activities to young people as well as providing a safe environment for young people to work and study.
‘Activity on the Go’ which will provide supported sport and physical activities and coaching with groups and individuals.

The project began with a range of activities over the Easter break. New sessions will take place in May - visit the What's on Calendar to see what's coming up
