 Baird Institute Audio Trail

Discover the history of the Baird Institute and the local area through this audio trail created by S3 students from the Robert Burns Academy Supported Learning Centre.

The students explored the history of John Baird, the Baird Institute, Keir Hardie, Coal Mining and the Covenanters and worked to share these stories in a creative, engaging and accessible way.

This trail is part of Workforce for the Future, a partnership project between Developing the Young Workforce and Museums Galleries Scotland, funded by Postcode Culture Trust. The project helps young people learn about museum careers while developing valuable skills.

You can listen to the audio trail onsite at the Baird Institute, and the transcripts are available below.  Enjoy experiencing local history through the eyes of these talented young historians!
