Brutality, a Brew and a Biscuit
Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to be in the audience of a grisly execution from the past? Or ever wondered what went through the condemned mind before they lost their head? And do you have a strange fascination with the macabre when it comes to Scottish history? Well, this Halloween event is for you!
Come along to Dean Castle to celebrate this Halloween and suffer a gruesome talk covering the tales of those executed who had a connection to the castle. This will cover popular local figures like the Boyd family, as well as the tragic ends of some of Scotland’s iconic figures such as William Wallace, Charles I, and Mary Queen of Scots.
Our talk will be led by one of our guides who specialises in execution narratives. There will be hot drinks and baking provided. Run time will be approximately 90 minutes, including a comfort break and Q&A. Due to the sensitive and violent nature of this talk we recommend this event for ages 18+.
Come along and listen…if you dare!
