The Story of Swing - POSTPONED
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING VENUE CLOSURES & POSTPONEMENT OF ‘THE STORY OF SWING’ – FRIDAY 24TH JANUARY
We are writing to advise our customers that the Met Office has issued a red weather warning for high winds on Friday 24th January. Very strong winds associated with Storm Éowyn are likely to cause very dangerous conditions and significant disruption and as such, East Ayrshire Leisure Trust has taken the decision to close all of our venues.
The performance of ‘The Story of Swing’ at the Big Top will therefore not go ahead on this date. We appreciate that this will cause disappointment to many, however the safety of our customers and staff is of paramount importance. We will work closely with the performers to identify an alternative date, however should this not suit, a full refund will be issued. Box Office staff will be in touch with customers shortly to advise on next steps.
Presented by Award winning vocalist and World Class trumpet player, Gareth John and featuring the stunning SOS Big Band – The Story of Swing takes you on a musical journey through decades of the iconic genre of swing and big band music.
Featuring the classic, much-loved hits of Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr, right through to modern day crooners such as Michael Bublé, Robbie Williams, Matt Goss, Paul Anka and Harry Connick Jr.
Gareth is renowned for his top-class showmanship, performing from the heart with huge passion for the genre. His stage presence and natural rapport with the audience are second to none. Not surprising, as he has shared the stage with many household names, including The Beautiful South, The Specials and many more.
Throughout the show, Gareth will be joined by some very special guests, including the fabulous female, close harmony group The Vixen trio.
