CAST ANNOUNCED FOR KILMARNOCK’S 2025 PANTOMIME - SLEEPING BEAUTY
East Ayrshire Leisure are delighted to reveal cast for this year’s Sleeping Beauty, the hotly anticipated magical family pantomime in Kilmarnock playing at the Galleon Centre’s new purpose-built auditorium from Friday 28 November to Sunday 28 December.
With some exciting favourites and fresh faces set to bring the fairytale story to life, Andrew Agnew (Balamory, Scot Squad) returns as Nurse Netty Knickerbocker, Killie’s best loved Dame, alongside Jamie McKillop as the cheeky comic, Hilarious Hector. Also returning are James McAnerney as King Cuthbert and Craig McDougall as the dashing Prince Gordon of Galston. Ali Cleland returns to Kilmarnock as the delightfully boo-able Carabosse, as Gill McGowan sprinkles some panto magic as Fairy Flutterby and Charis Murray stars in the title role as Princess Beauty.
Andrew Agnew will once again take the director’s chair while also stepping into an array of dazzling costumes as the Dame. He shared his excitement, saying: 'I’m really looking forward to Sleeping Beauty. We had a fantastic time in the circus tent last year, and I’m thrilled to be performing in our brand-new venue, the Galleon Auditorium this year. It’s a joy to be working alongside many familiar faces as well as welcoming some new ones to this year’s Killie panto.”
This year’s production promises to be bigger and better than ever, once again featuring Imagine Theatre’s breathtaking, state-of-the-art digital sets for a dazzling visual spectacle that will transport audiences straight into a fairytale world of laughter, music, and adventure for all ages.
Once again penned by Eric Potts, Ayrshire’s own pantomime legend and a Palace Theatre favourite, whose sharp wit earned last year’s Killie Panto a UK Pantomime Association Awards nomination for best script, audiences can expect fast-paced fun, local humour and plenty of audience interaction.
Eric tells us “Sleeping Beauty is going to be the panto of your dreams! I’m thrilled to have so many of the Killie panto gang back again with some fabulous new faces in this year’s cast too. We’re in an exciting new venue too at the Galleon Auditorium but the Kilmarnock panto mayhem will be there as usual – loads of laughs, great songs and, following on from the success of last year, an even bigger and more impressive digital set!
“We’re thrilled to welcome audiences to the brand-new Galleon Auditorium – a purpose-built venue designed to bring the magic of live performance to life. This is an exciting project for East Ayrshire Leisure, and we’re sure the public will find it every bit as magical as the Big Top – if not more so. With such a talented and much-loved cast returning to Kilmarnock, alongside some exciting new faces, this year’s Sleeping Beauty looks to be an unforgettable experience for the whole family.” said Paul Mathieson, Executive Lead, East Ayrshire Leisure.
When the wicked fairy Carabosse’s evil curse causes the princess to prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall into an enchanted sleep can anyone rescue her from the magical slumber before it is too late?
