East Ayrshire Leisure Celebrates Panto Day 2025 in the Biggest way!

2025's Panto Day celebrates the year of Transformations and no pantomime can claim quite as dramatic a transformation as East Ayrshire’s own production of Sleeping Beauty. This year East Ayrshire Leisure has once again reimagined what a festive venue can be, turning the Galleon Leisure Centre’s Games Hall into a purpose-built auditorium that has already taken audiences by surprise.

Audiances have been unanimous in their praise, remarking that the moment they step inside, they completely forget they are in a sports hall at all, instead finding themselves in an atmospheric theatre space. The transformation has been achieved through weeks of intense behind-the-scenes work, with teams of technicians, joiners, lighting designers and set builders reshaping the entire hall. The result is an immersive venue that feels both intimate and theatrical, with bespoke staging, professional rigging and carefully curated design turning a familiar community space into something extraordinary.

This year’s achievement builds on the remarkable success of 2024, when East Ayrshire Leisure introduced their first-ever Big Top for pantomime, attracting audiences from far and wide and earning widespread praise for its ambition and originality. Having now delivered two large-scale transformations in two consecutive years, East Ayrshire Leisure has cemented its reputation for creating outstanding performance venues that rival traditional theatres in both quality and atmosphere. Families across the region now know they can rely on the East Ayrshire Leisure to bring something special to their doorstep each Christmas.

The theme of Transformations feels especially fitting for Panto Day, the national celebration held each December to honour the magic of pantomime and the people who create it. Panto has always been a form that thrives on reinvention, so it only seems fitting that this years theme suits so perfectly. From the transformed Games Hall to the purpose-built auditorium staging of Sleeping Beauty, the production team has embraced the idea that panto continues to evolve with every generation while still holding on to the traditions audiences cherish.

Come along and experience it for yourself and see how this much-loved local Leisure centre has been given a theatrical new life. With glowing feedback already pouring in, Sleeping Beauty promises to be one of the most memorable pantos – a true celebration of creativity and transformation. Buy your tickets today here
