EAST AYRSHIRE LEISURE TRUST CONFIRMS THE SHOW WILL GO ON WITH A BIG TOP PANTOMIME - GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS

Roll Up!  Roll Up! Kilmarnock’s famous panto is back in a brand new venue– and it will be bigger, better and more exciting than ever!

East Ayrshire Leisure Trust and Imagine Theatre are delighted to confirm that this year’s Killie panto, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ will be performed in a Big Top, purpose built at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena just by the Scott-Ellis playing fields from 22 November to 29 December 2024

The fabulous 500 seater Big Top will transport you on a magical panto adventure as the Three Bears desperately find a way of showing off their fantastic dance moves to the world.  Who knows – they may even save the circus run by Dame Dolly Dundonald.  With the usual brilliant blend of laughter, music and panto mischief alongside spectacular circus performers, this is the panto you know and love…but with bells on!

2023 saw the much-loved Palace panto nominated for two UK Pantomime Association Awards for Best Midscale Pantomime and Best Ensemble.  2024 will bring together the same creative team to bring Goldilocks and the Three Bears to the stage, including producer Imagine Theatre who celebrate their 21st year as the creators of the Killie panto, and a script written by award-winning Eric Potts, the Ayrshire born Palace regular!

“We are delighted to be working with the fabulous team at East Ayrshire Leisure on this year’s pantomime ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. Whilst the Palace Theatre and Grand Hall undergoes an exciting refurbishment, East Ayrshire Leisure had the brilliant vision to ensure that the region’s most popular pantomime continues in a new location. The heated Big Top is the perfect place for us to stage ‘Goldilocks’ and we can’t wait to bring all the hallmarks of a Killie panto to this special venue, alongside some amazing surprises to entertain and delight audiences of all ages.” – Steve Boden, Imagine Theatre

Paul Mathieson, Executive Lead at East Ayrshire Leisure said – “We know that our annual panto is a staple in the festive calendar for so many people and we were determined to find an alternative way to deliver it. We are delighted to be working with Imagine Theatre again this year to help bring our vison to life and deliver a unique and innovative panto that you won’t forget! This will be a brand new experience but with all the same magic our audiences love and we can’t wait to welcome them back.”

For the first time outside a major city in the UK, Imagine Theatre will use their ground-breaking digital technology to present the show on hi-tech screens augmenting traditional panto content and staging.  The audience will be whisked digitally from scene to scene using the latest animation techniques, which have left other Imagine audiences amazed and enchanted.

This will be a pantomime experience like no other! Tickets for this unique family friendly festive treat will be on sale from May 2024….oh yes they will!
