Running Events
2020 sees a full programme of running events take place in East Ayrshire.
From the 40 mile ultra-marathon River Ayr Way Challenge which attracts runners from all over the country to the punishing Cairn Table Race hill run as well as Parkruns, endurance events, road races and fun runs....there's something to appeal to everyone.
This year's programme begins with our popular Park Run with a special Takeover Day on Sat 28 March and is followed by...

Park Run Take Over Day
Sat 28 March
Dean Castle Country Park
In addition to the usual Saturday morning Park Run, the Take Over Day will also have a fun run for kids and families to take part in.
Park Run takes place at 9.30am every Saturday at Dean Castle Country Park.
Roon the Toon 10K
Sun 7 June
Ayrshire Athletics Arena
Back for a 5th year, this 10K race starts and finishes at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena.
The route takes competitors “Roon the Toon” through the town centre and surrounding countryside over a fast, predominantly flat course.
The Scottish Grand Prix Wheelchair Race will also be part of the event.

Fri 26 - Sat 27 June
Dean Castle Country Park
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Dean Castle Country Park, K2-4 is a brand new challenge comprising of a 12 hour individual race and a 24 hour individual and team race.
The event will start at 10pm on Friday 26 June and run through until 10pm on the Saturday evening. Can you last the pace?
Cairn Table Race
Wednesday 15 July
Walkers Car Park, Muirkirk
As part of the Bog and Burns Hill Running Series, you can run this 7.2 km race up one of the finest hills in Ayrshire.

The River Ayr Way Challenge
Saturday 12 September
Glenbuck
This event allows you to run a supported 41 miles of the River Ayr Way from its source in Glenbuck to the sea at Ayr.
Relay entries with teams of two or three are also supported.
