Friends of the Dean

It’s easy to get more involved with what’s going on at Dean Castle Country Park. Our outdoor conservation group has met twice every month since 2016 and is always looking for new members.

The Textile Team are currently working on new trappings for the arms and armour displays in the Castle, ready for reopening and are looking forward to moving into their newly refurbished workspace in the Castle’s laundry buildings.

In the run up to our brand new Christmas event in the Castle Courtyard, East Ayrshire Leisure is looking for Event Volunteers to assist with welcoming visitors to the Castle. To find out more, please email EALvolunteering@eastayrshireleisure.com or come along to our information sessions on at 2pm or 5.30pm on 16 November at the Visitor Centre.

If you love being outdoors whatever the weather, learning new skills and doing practical work, then being a Nature Conservation Volunteer could be the role for you. It's a great opportunity to make a difference by keeping the Park looking great & encouraging wildlife to flourish. If you are interested and want to find out more, get in touch with Rangers@eastayrshireleisure.com

The Friends of the Dean will expand further when Dean Castle re-opens to cover a range of new roles. If you are interested in history, castles and museums, please watch this space for more details.
