Palace Theatre

The Palace Theatre & Grand Hall closed in Dec 2023 to allow works to commence as part of the Cultural Kilmarnock project. However, a programme of theatre shows, comedy and music is taking place across a number of our other venues whilst works are underway. Check our what's on page to see what's coming up!

The Palace Theatre & Grand Hall Complex are part of exciting design proposals for Cultural Kilmarnock which has been developed by East Ayrshire Council in partnership with East Ayrshire Leisure.

The video below shows the vision for the venue

The Palace Theatre and neighbouring Grand Hall have seen a host of big names over the past few years – Gerry Cinnamon, Kevin Bridges, Sean Lock, Dorothy Paul, Lesley Joseph, The View, Calvin Harris, Johnny Marr, Primal Scream, Kasabian, the Happy Mondays, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott and Billy Connolly to name just a few! The Grand Hall is also part of pop history -  The Sweet penned Ballroom Blitz after a raucous night in the venue in January 1973.
